Background
Ethical sourcing is the process of ensuring that products being sourced are obtained in a responsible and sustainable way, that the workers involved in making them are safe and treated fairly and that environmental and social impacts are taken into consideration during the sourcing process
Objective
As a privately-owned Australian business, Canvas Factory is committed to managing our business in a manner that reflects our high ethical and moral values.
Our objective is to ensure Canvas Factory engage with partners and suppliers who respect and comply with relevant laws that primarily ensure:
- a) The protection of human rights,
- b) The protection of the environment via ethically sourced materials,
- c) The disposal and/or recycling of manufacturing waste materials in an ethical and sustainable manner
Human Rights and working conditions
- Employment is freely chosen and that local employment laws are adhered to, including those of wages, benefits and working hours
- A safe and hygienic working environment shall be provided, bearing in mind the prevailing knowledge of the industry and of any specific hazards. Adequate steps shall be taken to prevent accidents and injury to health in the working environment.
- All suppliers shall ensure they follow applicable Workplace Health and Safety laws relevant to their country

Both New Zealand and Australia have strict regulatory frameworks in place to ensure timber sourced is

All timber is sourced from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified suppliers. Certificates are available upon request
